In my humble opinion, the best analysis and design software for steel
structures is RISA-3D and RAMsteel/frame.  They clearly stand out from
the pack.  Then, there is a group (the pack) of about twenty programs. 
This includes some promising new 32-bit Windows 95/NT apps like
VisualAnalysis 3.03. Then, below all of those, is STAAD3.  What does
everyone else think?
