I recommend R13c4 or c4a. Historically, when Autodesk comes out with a new version (c1), there are a LOT of bugs. It happened with R11 and R12. I was DYING to go to windows when R13 first came out, so I got the first version. I then had to do a c1 patch, then a c2 patch then... you get the picture. A real pain!! Finally, it appears that c4 is very stable, productive and FAST! I will eventually go to 14, but not for six months to a year after it is released. I'll let someone else be the gunea pig this time. R14 is coming out soon. The pre-release version will be out in a couple weeks. We waited a long time for them to work the bugs out of R13, so long that we decided to skip over 13 and go from 12 to 14. ---------- From: Neil Moore[SMTP:nmoore(--nospam--at)spider.lloyd.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 1997 9:10 AM To: seaoc(--nospam--at)seaoc.org Subject: Re: Computer Crashes "......." >Bill Allen >---------- Bill: I really appreciate your comments about Win95 and your problems. We're making major changes in the next couple of weeks - upgrading to Win95 - Autocad13 and ISDN. So I would rather avoid the kind of problems you've had if I can. Also, we use an outside computer consultant to keep us out of trouble (a luxury provided by my company). But on a weekend he's not available; so I'm saving all of the posts concerning the crashes and pray that I won't have to re-read them.
