RE: Architectural Engineering

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
There are several schools that offer Architectural Engineering degrees.
The study involves many of the same courses as architecture, but focuses
on engineering especially structural. It is similar to the civil /
structural engineering study, but instead of fluids, water treatment,
and transportation the student takes architectural courses such as
design studio.

I went through the traditional civil / structural study program, but I
have the utmost respect for the caliber of architectural engineering
graduates. The only down side is that some of the programs lack full
accreditation, and the graduates can find it difficult to obtain a PE
license in some states.

What is architectural engineering? I have seen references to it and
talked to some people but no one seems to know what it is.
