Re: Architectural Engineering

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
When I attended Cal Poly SLO, (25 years ago) architectural engineering
was definately different from architecture. They were two different
majors with architecture being focused on producing architects, with
some limited engineering knowledge, and architecatural engeinnering
educated students in the structural disipline. They were (and still are)
part of the School of Architecture, but it was not established to make
someone dangerous enough in either direction to choose after
graduation. The choice to be an architect or engineer had to be made
prior to starting the the third year as the focus was very different.
The general description at the time was engineering of architectural
structures, vs civil engineering of hydralic systems, roads and sites.
