I guess voice recognition is O.K. until the computer starts talking
back. Can you imagine your computer saying something like:
"You idiot! You have just erased the file you have been working on
all day! You had better resign now before you boss finds out!"

I'm sure there are countless other situations that will make us look
forward to Hal.
