Re: Acad/ Conversion from Raster to vector

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Ajay, there are a few ways to do this, but none of them are easy or clean.
Autocad 14 provides better features that help import scanned drawings,
however, they still require clean up - especially if they are not scanned
level.
Corel Draw 7.0 or later allows for conversion of bitmap to vector based
drawings. It will even allow you to clean up the vector drawings and then
save it to a DXF or WMF file. Windows Metafile format (WMF) is supported by
Autocad 13.
The other alternative is to download a shareware program Paint Shop Pro
(PSP) from the web. You can check to see if it is available on
www.download.com or www.shareware.com .
Both products allow conversion from Bitmap to vector and back.

Autocad 14 will allow you enter a bitmap into the drawings which can then be
traced. The program also allows you to scale the drawing to compensate for
the scanning problems.

I hope this helps.
