Mr Luth:
	the master-slave relationship is only valid for a case in which you 
expect the "master" element to behave as a rigid body.  That is, if you have a
slab with very high in-plane stiffness supported by relatively flexible 
columns, and you impose a rotation, it is reasonable to model this using 
master-slave nodes to transfer this rotation.  Otherwise, it may not 
necessarily be conservative.
