It is also true that in the case of the shorter beam that the beam will
have more relative stiffness than the longer one.  We can go back asfar as
the definition of stiffness as defined by Hardy Cross moment distribution
method, or the energy methods, or the force dispacement method .  The
flexural stiffness is proportional to the reciprocal of cube of the length
or height of the member.
