This systems is not contained in the UBC but is contained in the 
NEHRP Provisions and the BOCA and SBCCI codes based on them.  It is 
also addressed in the new Seismic Load Specification developed by 
AISC.  There are design provisions available for such construction - 
but in a City using the UBC, it would have to be permitted under the
