	Beware rules of thumb in relation to slab foundations for machinery.
There's actually a point (which varies from system to system) where the 
slab weight becomes small/large enough that it *amplifies* the motion it was 
supposed to damp.  

	Principles of Soil Dynamics (Braja Das, 1993) has a section on 
designing against vibration in machine foundations that's pretty good.
No code ref's spring immediately to mind, however.
