Type V Cement

     Type V cement is used where you have high concentration of sulfates 
     and has nothing to do with chlorides (actually, recent research 
     indicate that Type V cement slightly raises the corrosion potential of 
     steel in a chloride rich environment).  Hopefully your geotechnical 
     report shows the water soluble sulfate concentration in your soil in 
     percent by weight.  With that, you can go to ACI 318 TABLE 4.3.1 and 
     see which cement type is required for your situation.
