Hello.

Presently, I am researching for an architectural grad thesis on hillside
architecture
that is seismically sound-how does success/failure differ from building on
flat grade?
does anyone have:
1. hillside horror stories related to Northridge or other quakes?
2. hillside success stories about the same?
3. ironically successful/horrific stories about the same?
4. suggestions of people to email, books to read?
5. sites to visit (in LA would be preferred)?
6. Opinions on architects (known or obscure) whose work displays a real
understanding of how a building should function structurally with its
sloping site?
7. General observations and conclusions on this issue?

Thanks,
