RE: Question for East Coast Engineers

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Duh!!!!!!
I'm still lost here guy's. Will someone give me a simple explanation by
Rick's comment: " These are the initial steps which need to be taken to
raise the awareness of those who CAN change the provisions that there are
serious problems and engineers are not looking for "engineers full
employment" provisions in the
code." What is the meaning of the phrase ""engineers full employment"
provisions in thecode."
Dennis

I can only guess that the "Code Gods" are afraid that we will write
provisions into the code that is self serving and whose primary goal is to
protect and improve our income potential.

If we were capable of that, we would be attorneys, not engineers.

Would either Rick or Bill explain that the phrase "Engineers full
employment" means in this issue. It went over me when Rick mentioned it and
I'm not sure how it is to be interpreted?

Heaven forbid private sector engineers getting "full employment". Instead,
let's let every yahoo be able to stamp and sign structural drawings in high
seismic risk areas. Yeah, that's a better idea. Don't want those engineers
getting "full employment".
