     Just a thought on the wind pressure loading.  Depending on the 
     roof/structure configuration, you may need to consider this a roof 
     overhang and use ASCE 7-95 Figure 6-5B.  The dashed lines in these 
     graphs apply to overhangs. 
     The situation where this would apply is where the canopy is connected 
     by flashing to the building or there is a small gap to the building.  
     Here the wind pressure on the underside will be increased due to the 
     fact that the wind is "trapped" by the building and the canopy.  If 
     there is a large gap (say over 1/5 of the canopy width) then it is a 
     roof over an "open" building.

Roger -
  You are correct. The canopy is located at the main entrance of a building
but is structurally independent. Using Lew's advice, I'll analyze as an open 
structure with a 20 degree monoslope roof. I'll also analyze as a partially 
enclosed structure. I'll probably use a wind design uplift value(s) 
somewhere in between.
