[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Some of you West Coast structural engineers may be interested in a combined
continuing education course on wood truss applications and Colonial
Williamsburg (http://www.grouptravels.com/usa_can/va/willbrg.htm). The
following paragraph and Web site gives complete course information:

Design of Metal-Plate-Connected Wood Truss Systems
(November 23-24, 1998, Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg )
Structural engineers, architects, contractors, code officials, and truss
manufacturers will focus on methods and design procedures for the field
application of wood truss roof and floor systems at a Virginia Tech course.
The course emphasis will be on the connection design between trusses and
permanent bracing needed to connect all the "parts" together to yield a
"system" having excellent in-service performance. 1.2 CEU's will be
awarded. You may register by phone (540)231-5183, or view the course
brochure and register on-line at
http://www.conted.vt.edu/metal-plate/systems.htm For details on course
content, contact Dr. Frank Woeste at (540)231-6093, or send e-mail to
