RE: Shop Drawings

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
I'm not sure if Timberweld provides complete shop drawings, but you might
try them since they are in your backyard (Boulder). Contact Greg Martin at
GMartin802@aol who is on our list from time to time.
I have specified Timberweld for the first time for a series of 60 foot long
GLB's with double reverse radius (something like a shallow "S" on it's
side). I am hoping that they will provide all the shop drawings as well.
They have an office in Montana where our GLB's are being designed. I'm not
sure whether they will ship out of Montana or Colorado, but Greg believes
that they will be competitive since they deliver product into our area.
My only concern is that these are specialty designs and am at the mercy of
their lead times which are currently 16 weeks. I have gotten the owner to
accept a sole source in this case do to the unique problems with the design.
Let me know what you find out and I'll pass along how they performed on my
job as we progress.

I am interested in contacting companies that can produce shop drawings for
glued laminated timber. Please send email to me at bdpooley(--nospam--at)aol.com.
