     Structural Engineers in the Philippines usually use ETABS, SAP or 
     STAAD for analysis and these softwares usually have post processors 
     which include the design of steel sections. We also are heavily 
     dependent on the American codes and in this case, prominently use the 
     ASD. However, there appears to be a growing trend of LRFD designers 
     though not in a significant level yet. But I daresay that eventually 
     LRFD might follow what USD has done in concrete.
     It would be good if you can generate a software that incorporated both 
     ASD and LRFD. In the future, should LRFD become the preferred design 
     method, the transition will be easier for your company and the users 
     base that you have by that time.

Can you tell me what type of design code for steel structures is in use in 
We are also looking at whether we will develop a design module to ASD and / or 
LRFD.  I have been told that the most prominent
design code is still the Allowable Stress code.  Can I get some sort of a 
consensus on this from people who read it?
