Rudra,
I'm a Staad 3 user so your program may handle this differently. If you model 
a beam or column as a supporting member for a plate element remember the 
plate only loads the supporting member thru it's nodes. So if you want an 
accurate analysis or code check of the supporting member you need to make 
the mesh accordingly fine to simulate the line load from the plate element 
connected to it.
