Response to Mr. Cochran by WTCA on Diaphragms

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

Mr. Cochran

Diaphragm nailing for commercial buildings is critical to performance. Often SPF is used in truss chords based on availability, inventory and cost. Recently SPF manufacturers have begun to monitor specific gravity and actually mark specific gravity on the lumber itself specifically for the purpose of assessing with the diaphragm nailing requirements. The Western Wood Products Association (Frank Stewart @ 503-224-3934) or the Canadian Wood Council (Eric Jones @ 800-463-5091 or 613-747-5544) can assist you with these new grade properties.
