RE: 316 Stainless values

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Ron,

According to "Design Guidelines for the Selection and Use of Stainless
Steel" by the Specialty Steel Industry of the United States (202-342-8630),
there are four grades: 316 (UNS S31600) Ft=84 ksi, Fy=42 ksi; 316F (UNS
S31620), Ft=85 ksi, Fy=38 ksi; 316L (UNS S31603) Ft=81ksi, Fy=42 ksi; and
316N (UNS S31651) Ft=90 ksi, Fy=48 ksi. Yield and tensile values are based
on annealed sheet. Hope this helps.

		Subject:	316 Stainless values

Can anyone give me some approximate strengths of 316
Stainless Steel. I do
not have any information on the 316 Stainless (such as a
letter designation
		etc.)

I mostly need a Yield Strength approximation (Fy) and a
Tensile Strength (Ft)
		or an ultimate yield strength.

		Thanks,
