Here's a trick:

Make sure your units under "format" menu has been setup to "units
->engineering" and "angle -> surveyor"

Command: <Line or L or pick the line menu> -> From point: <click any
point> To: <@100'<N45d0'20"E> <Enter> To: <@150<S30d0'42"W <Enter> and
so on and <Enter> twice to stop
