Cold-Formed Steel Design Seminar

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]

The Light Gauge Steel Engineers Association and American Iron & Steel
Institute (AISI) present a continuing educational program offering an
industry-approved approach to cold-formed steel design. This six-hour
seminar is specifically tailored to design engineers, engineering students and
professors, and anyone involved in the design of cold-formed steel structures.

WHEN: October 23, Friday
		      8 a.m. To 4 p.m.
		      Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

WHERE:	Clarion Hotel, Bay View
                  660 K Street
                  SAN DIEGO

OTHER SITES IN 1998: Atlanta (November 20), Nashville (December 18 and 19).
Also: Chicago (January 1999).

The seminar teaches how to design with cold-formed steel and how to use the
AISI (American Iron & Steel Institute) 1996 Specification for the Design of
Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members and 1996 Cold-Formed Design Manual. It
explains the fundamental behavior of cold-formed steel structural members,
design requirements, and cold-formed steel applications, including: Tension
Members, Elements and Behavior, Members in Bending, Columns and Beam-Columns,
Member Bracing, Connections and Joints, Testing for Special Cases, Light Gauge
Steel Framing.

Attendees will be awarded 0.6 Continuing Education Units for the seminar.
