Developers--you gotta love 'em :-(
It might be a while before they get this one right. You actually have two 
extremes to consider for seismic loading, positive and negative. Design 
has to cover the static loads plus the worst of the two seismic extremes. 
If you can extract seismic stress and combine it with gravity and live 
loading, maybe you can invoke the design module one the combined loads.
