FWIW, the Mendoza Seismic Resistant Building Code classifies wood in 4
groups according to its density, and then divides each group into three
categories according to its quality.  After that you can get the admissible
stresses for flexion, tension, compression, shear, etc.
It is very conservative since we don´ t use a lot of wood in our
construction.
If you are interested I can mail you a copy of the values.
