Use of structural steels at elevated temperature

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Does anyone have a reference (Code-based or otherwise) suggesting the degree
to which yield strength of structural steels is affected by elevated
temperature?

I am thinking of CSA G40.20 350W or ASTM A572 grade 50 rolled W-shapes. In
general the temperature will be below 100 C (212 F). Is this high enough to
affect strength. (yes...we are taking expansion into account as part of the
design...)
