<< CALL FOR PAPERS
 1999 SEAOC ANNUAL CONVENTION
 SEA SANTA BARBARA

The Structural Engineers Association of California issues this Call for
Papers
to be presented at its 1999 Annual Convention, to be held at the DoubleTree
Resort in Santa Barbara on September 30, 1999 through October 3, 1999.

The main theme of ?Structural Solutions for the New Millenium? has been
tentatively chosen for the Technical Program. The state-of-the-art in
earthquake engineering continues to evolve. With that in mind, we are seeking
papers on interesting and informative topics and projects relating to: Codes
&
Guidelines, Materials and Systems, Retrofit, Connections, Business Forum, and
Inspection & Observation on a national as well as an international basis. We
are working toward a two-track program that would include papers applicable
to
both the more practical topics that are encountered by a majority of
Structural
Engineers in everyday practice and the newer, more sophisticated analysis
 methods systems and materials.

Papers presented at the SEAOC Convention will be published in the SEAOC
PROCEEDINGS to be distributed at the Convention.

Interested parties should submit brief abstracts (300 words or less) of their
papers on or before March 1, 1999 to:
