If you think that the houses you are designing with "higher standards" are
going to escape without any cracks in the finish, then, may God help you. I
hope your are not giving written assurances to the homeowners.

Most of the Northridge claims were due to cosmetic fixes that were claimed "to
have not been there before the earthquake" yeah right. So, even with your
"higher standard" design you are going to have "honest homeowners" who will
claim that the shrinkage cracks in their stucco walls were not there before
the earthquake, let alone the real ones.
