Simpson Strong-Tie pleased to announce the following new position: Wood-Framed Lateral Design Specialist -- Brea, CA There is a position open for a wood-framed lateral design specialist in our Brea, CA facility. This is a new position created to assist with increased customer service calls and engineering, design and testing support required for the new Strong-Wall. JOB DESCRIPTION This position will be responsible for providing technical support regarding the use of Simpson Strong-Tie products in the lateral force resisting system of a building; to aid in the design, development and testing of new lateral force resisting systems; and to meet with specifiers, customers, building officials contractors, and developers regularly in the field. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * B. S. in Civil Engineering * PE license * 5 years of experience in the design and construction of wood frame structures in high seismic risk areas * Thorough understanding of seismic design principles and UBC provisions for seismic design * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work well with people RELOCATION Relocation will be negotiated for a qualified candidate.
