Sound proofing existing timber structure
I am a structural and apt owner. The most effective sound solution for foot
padded rugs. Other options are
Dance floor isolation pads for a raised floor.
Foam sheeting under floor finishes
Weight reduces most sounds but not the tapping of shoes.
Sound ceilings still don't stop the tapping of shoes.
Offer to rebuild the structure with concrete.
I have found the young tenants have big shoes with hard soles. Use rugs,
with so much
padding that it slows their running and thumping down stairs.
Offer to buy the building at a price with a positive cash flow and start
retirement plan. Your client, will never here a complaint again.
