One of my favorites:
A man purchased a beautiful craftsman style timber home and wanted to hang a
chandelier over the dining room table. He could not center the light over
the table with the table centered in the room because of the exposed beam
spacing at the ceiling. He notch cut the beam up to the ceiling level and
hung the light. Needless to say during the night the majority of the
ceiling and part of the upstairs bath landed in the dining room.
