Not a direct answer, but maybe a hint:

The Steel Joist Institute, which governs the design and fabrication of
steel joists that typically have continuous double angles for top and
bottom chords, and either solid rods or angles for web, specifies the
chords be designed as continuous and the webs simply pinned for
shortspan joists and girders, but allows k(in plane)=0.75 for longspan
joists.
