This information came to my attention via the MCEER Information
Service.

==================
In the fall semester of 1999, Dr. Kurt McMullin in the Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering at San Jose State University will
offer the course Advanced Seismic Design (CE 265) via online
instruction over the Internet. Except for exams, students will be able
to complete this course without ever having to leave the home or
office.

The course will use Seismic Design Handbook, 1989, by F.
Naeim, Jackman, and Hall as a textbook and will include coverage of
such topics as earthquake ground motion and response spectra, review
of structural dynamics, and nonlinear pushover analysis. The course
will feature slide lectures and other materials on the web. A chat
room will also be established for discussion of lectures and comments
on lectures.
