Re: Some of the Strangest Codes I've seen

     For the 2'-4" wall, what would you say to using two 2X8's placed edge
to edge between the studs to form a "web."  I would think that at the edge
to edge interface you could place a steel dowel into pre drilled holes to
make the "web"continuous to the next stud.  If the studs are at 16"o.c. the
2X8's fit well.
     Would this satisfy the racking failure clause in the code?
