IS MORE FLEXIBLE THAN  THE MASONRY, IS TO CONCLUDE A  STATIC ANALYSIS 
THAT  ASSUMES THE WOOD BASE IS AT THE TOP OF THE MASONRY.

WATCH OUT FOR NARROW AND TALL MASONRY PIERS! 
TRY A WOOD SHEAR NATURAL PERIOD ANALYSIS!

 WOOD SHEAR WALLS AT CAPACITY OF MOST NAILING PATTERNS 
DEFLECTS ABOUT 0.4 INCHES PER 8 FT HEIGHT. AS A CONSTANT, SO IS THEN
THE BASE SHEAR ACCEL. THE OLD CODE WAS ABOUT 0.7G AND IT WAS CUT OFF TO
0.1G.
