RE: ACI 318-99: Comments, Anyone?

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
In a recent BSSC Provisions Update Committee meeting in Washington D.C.
Gene Corely stated that the ACI 318-99 also incorporated the seismic
provisions adopted by the BSSC and contained in the 1997 NEHRP Recommended
Provisions. These Provisions were also accepted by the 2000 IBC.

The ACI 318 H committee has done a fantastic job.

The codes are converging, making it much easier on the practitioner.

ACI and UBC have converged considerably over the past few years, so it won't
be much of a departure. The bigger differences have been in seismic
provisions, but even there the differences are slight.
