Ed, it is SO easy, you won't believe it.

In cell A1, type in "W="
In cell B1, enter 150
In cell C1, type "PLF"

O.K., now select cell B1.

move the mouse to the name box (upper left under the font name) and type in
W.

Viola! you now have a named variable.

Go to any other cell and type in =W and 150 will appear. You can now use W
in any expression instead of a cell reference.

Cool, huh?
