The issues to be discussed here should be issues which affect the structural
engineering profession; personally, I do not have a problem with an
occasional joke or sidebar comment on other issues.  However, Mr. Polhemus,
this is not your "world wide soapbox", so please step down from it.

I think this is, in itself, rather a joke. We have all sorts of inane
discussions in here about "what's an architectural engineer," etc. Yet the
occasional political comment is not allowed? Gotta cut down on jokes?

I simply don't get it.
