You may want to consider another approach. This detail that is often used for 
resting moment at the base is: 

Embed the bottom portion of the column in a grade beam that runs along the 
frame to the other column. This way the moment at column base is developed by 
bearing of column flange against the concrete in grade beam. Below the grade 
beam a pad footing is provided to take care of the gravity loads. This 
approach eliminates the need for designing the base plate for bending all 
together.
