I agree with every thing Bill Allen said, but would like to stress the
central theme of Dennis Wish' comments too.  You will be much happier,
more productive, and overall better off if you work as hard as you can
to follow the career path that you love than if you let money into the
formula.  Once you're past the subsistence level, remember that you are
going to spend 1/2 of your waking hours "doing" your job.  If it's not
one you love, you've got serious problems.  Good luck on your choices.
