I think we ought to let each side have it's way to believe what they will.
In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't change the important things in
life like family, etc. On the other hand, it does fill the empty times for
those without enough to do this holiday season by giving them something to
argue about. 

And after all, doesn't accepting both interpretations give us all a great
excuse to party hard TWO YEARS IN A ROW.  ;<O
