Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia calculate the wind loads based
on basic wind speeds of 100 mi/hr. Most countries here rely on the British
Standards for calculating the actual loads.
Regarding sandstorms, that plays a factor only in the fact that the sand
particles have a high percentage of chlorides in them and how that would
affect the reinforced concrete on the long run.
