I have been advised that if high strength bar (1000 Mpa) i.e Macalloy or
Dwidag were to be used to lift precast segment unit, typically in those
segmental bridges,or for any lifting purposes that it should be stressed
down to the load it is subjected because of its brittleness. A slight
accidental knock against an adjacent unit might snap this bar. Has
anyone ever experience any failure of this type?
