RE: Details for a beam B 20 X 59

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
In my copy of "Iron and Steel Beams 1873 to 1952" by AISC, I found a B20x59
fabricated sometime between 1909 and 1911:

A=17.36 in^2
Ix=1172.2 in^4
Sx=117.2 in^3
rx=8.22 in
Iy=48.3 in^4
Sy=12.1 in^3
ry=1.66 in

d=20.000 in
bf=8.000 in
tw=0.375 in

Flange thicknesses:
n=0.475 in at the tip
m=0.818 in at the web fillet
R=0.45 in (web fillet radius)

|| During a review of an old project, I came across a
||    beam   designation     B 20 X 59.
|| Does any one knows what it is equivalent to a shape
|| in green book. Where can I find the properties of
|| this on the internet. Any and all help will be really
|| appreciated. Thanx a million in advance.
