RE: Loads on Buried Pipes

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
The American Water Works Association (http://www.awwa.org/) has a standard C150
and a manual M41 that will help you evaluate the pipe. Reduced effective wall
thickness due to corrosion may be a consideration.

I need a reference for evaluating a buried pipe subjected to surcharge
loads. Specifically, Ductile Iron Pipe. Mine is 48" diameter, buried
at least 5' below grade, and will be subjected to wheel loading. Does
anybody have a reference for this kind of evaluation?

Thanks in advance, Michael Ritter, PE
