FW: ETABS - live loads on Rigid Diaphr.

Mike:

I have looked at the CSI website, but can find no information about Version
7 of ETABS. We use ETABS, and have a current service contract, but
sometimes they can be a bit slow in letting us know what's new. How did you
get a copy of version 7?

ETABS v7 can help you with this task. If you don't have v7, the
"traditional" approach has been to use point and line gravity loads
applied to members that are also attached to the rigid diaphragms for
lateral response. (This is true since the "rigid diaphragm" is really
a calculation device and doesn't correspond to the actual floor
plate.)
