Title: RE: Out of Plane Wall Deflections - Wood Walls

If you looking for a number to use with out of plane loads, the 1997 Standard Building Code (Section 1610) limits the deflection of exterior and interior walls and partitions with brittle finishes to L/240, and that of exterior and interior walls and partitions with flexible finishes to L/120.

Does anyone know what the guidelines (97UBC, APA, etc.) are for out of plane
wall deflections for wood shear walls? Can anyone recommend any literature
on the subject?
