Fiberboard Shearwalls

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
'97 UBC p.2-289 TBL 23-II-J lists values for fiberboard diaphragms. Firstly, the values _seem_ high in comparison to OSB. Also, footnote 2 states higher shear value is allowed for 1/2" "fiberboard nail-base sheathing". On p. 2-273 the definition of fiberboard is given, but not the difference between it and "fiberboard nail-base sheathing."

Has anyone had experience with the performance of this material, and/or know the UBC's definition of "fiberboard nail-base sheathing?"

Thanks.
