title: ASCE Design Loads on Structures During Construction FREE!!!

This gives a PDF file reference.

This draft has many references to the subject. It recommends a seismc
approach based on a time period not more than 2 years. The problem is to
secure a 2 year limit. The result is about 75% reduction in demand.

It may of interest to some that San Francisco has a 75% reduction in
seismic demand for older buildings when they are to be reinforced, due to
substantial changes. This reduction has no time limit for the life of the
bracing. This either suggests that a temporary shoaring system could be
less or that San Francisco's criteria reduces the demand too much.
