RE: More On Ungrouted Baseplates for Traffic Signal/SignageStruc ture s

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
It so happens I have the 3rd Edition of the PCI Design Handbook, and also
the 5th Edition. FYI, this design procedure is in Section 6.7 in the 5th
Edition.

We're checking this out now. Thanks a lot for pointing it out to me! I would
never have guessed I'd find this here.

This forum is invaluable, I must say. I think we save each other--and the
public--a great many headaches due to our participation here.

FYI, I just pointed out to my young designer, that the formulae shown in the
PCI Handbook assume that you are using ACI 318 Strength Design load factors,
but we are using AISC LRFD/ASCE 7. Therefore, I instructed him to use the
Resistance (Phi) Factors from ACI 318-99 Appendix C.

Thanks again for your help in this.

Regards.

The PCI Design Handbook for precast and prestressed concrete has a procedure
for designing this type of baseplate and anchorage. It is in Section 6.10
of the Third Edition.
