RE: plywood design values for lauan

[Subject Prev][Subject Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next]
Jeff-

If you give me a fax number I can send you infomation on the Shorea,
lauan-meranti wood groups and most mechanical properties for these
woods, although the values are metric. The data is from the Wood
Handbook published by the Forest Products Laboratory (previously a USDA
publication). The meranti wood species is typically called lauan.

Subject: plywood design values for lauan

I have been asked to put design numbers to a short beam made from 5.2mm
lauan. Does any know of published values for this non-structural
foreign
product.

Physical testing of this beam is posible and may be my only recourse.
